    Things you need to know about Newport Mill Middle School (NMMS)!


    1.  School communication does not come in backpacks!  You will receive information electronically from Ms. Tsonis, in weekly Sunday night emails ("connect eds"), through the PTSA listserv, on the PTSA Facebook page, or on the closed PTSA Facebook group.

    2.  Newport Mill Middle School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. As such we have the Middle Years Programme.

    3.  Have a question?  Look on the NMMS website for information or ask your question on the PTSA listserv or on the PTSA closed Facebook group. If you are not already a part of the listserv or the Facebook group, you can request to be included via the links.

    4. Want to see how your child is doing in their classes? Check out their grades in ParentVue.

    5. If you have concerns about your child, please don’t hesitate to reach out to their teachers and/or administration.  They are happy to help.

    The FAQs below relate to a "normal year". The PTSA will still meet on the second Tuesday of most months, but the meetings are being held on Zoom this year.

    6.  Our biggest fundraiser for our PTSA is the Tiger Run which is held in the Spring and helps fund Tiger Grants to help enrich and supplement the school environment and the curriculum.

    7.  Only 7th and 8th graders can participate in sports.  However, there are many clubs that all students can participate in.  Check out the clubs on the NMMS website.

    8. The PTSA meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm in the Media Center.  We will have Spanish interpreting available.

    9.  NMMS has an “off and away” cell phone policy for its students.

    10.  There are microwaves for our students to use during lunch periods.
